Working in an advertising agency can be as rewarding as it can be stressful. So it’s up to you to turn the little irritating things into something fun. Derrick Lin, a brand strategist based in Ohio, captures his model train miniatures in oh-so-familiar office situations. Whether it’s crunch time, productivity versus weather, or happy hour cheer, Derrick has snaps to illustrate them all. He takes the pictures with his iPhone and shares them with spot-on captions, both humorous and relevant to many.
The series goes to show that many of these problems are universal and no workplace is ever perfect. When Derrick spoke with the Daily Mail, he explained how the project came to be:
“I have always been fascinated by all things miniature and by small details, so it occurred to me that the miniature figures, with the contrast of their size and their lively poses, could be a great medium to express our many emotions. I use my iPhone and office lighting to take the photos because I want to achieve a friendly and ‘everyday’ style. Shortly after starting my Instagram page, I had co-workers cheering for me and volunteering to be in the pictures, they are always encouraging me to share my series with the Internet.”
